Master Plan Process
We approach master planning as a three step process:
Step 1: What We Have
During this phase, the team will analyze the current physical and cultural conditions of the campus, review past planning efforts, and conduct interviews with key stakeholders. An initial forum will be held to gather input on specific issues, involving a broad range of stakeholders early in the process. The team aims to understand the campus thoroughly and record information from interviews with individuals familiar with its challenges.
Step 2: What We Need
In the third phase, the team analyzes information from Step 1 to create a framework aligning physical assets with the campus vision. This includes evaluating space utilization, classroom fit, and anticipating future needs, aiming for incremental improvements in residential and academic spaces based on existing conditions and projected growth.
Step 3: How We Get There
In step 3, the planning framework is translated into specific strategies. The team evaluates physical improvement alternatives, builds consensus on preferred options, and identifies conceptual utilities and infrastructure enhancements. The implementation plan addresses the nature and scope of proposed improvements, establishes near-term priority projects, and outlines mid- to long-term implementation strategies.
